Here's a list of projects we have going on to get ready for your Spring CSA!
-Rehabbing our old walk-in cooler to run with a coolbot- A gadget that tricks our 24,500 btu window unit air conditioner to run at 32 degrees- A huge savings for us instead of buying a brand new cooler and compressor! Learn more about a coolbot at storeitcold.com. We hope to one day add a mobile trailer cooler as well- a farmer's gotta dream!
- Prepping beds- So far the snap peas are in and ready to be trellised, kale, beets, broccoli, romanesco, cauliflower and lettuce have been transplanted, carrots and turnips have been direct seeded. Flower beds are ready. The shadehouse turned greenhouse is filling up! Cherry tomatoes get seeded today!
-New drip irrigation lines are being laid in 4" and 8" spacing.
- We're working on finding sustainable packaging for our CSA- We want to be responsible business owners and to us that means protecting the environment. So far we've found biodegradable "plastic" (not plastic) bags for field greens and recycled large paper bags for your veggies- still working on a eco-friendly clamshell for cherry tomatoes and snap peas...
-We got new harvest bins! The organizing nerd wanted harvest bins that are easy to clean, stackable when empty or full, and fit on our new walk-in cooler shelves. Sometimes its the little things!
-There's just 3 spots left in our CSA sign up! WE ARE SO EXCITED TO BE YOUR FARMERS!
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING A SMALL LOCAL BUSINESS AND KEEPING AGRICULTURE ALIVE IN YOUR COMMUNITY!!!!
